Good practice – learning and teaching: publishing your work

Having work published to demonstrate expertise in your field is a fundamental component of both academic and other job markets.
But it entails thinking about both your writing and its audience in a very different way from writing a PhD thesis. In this workshop we will discuss how to get your work published in a scholarly journal, whether it has started out as a PhD chapter, a conference paper, or a collaboration. We will discuss choosing the right journal, dealing with reviewers’ feedback, and revising your work. You do not have to come to the workshop with a specific piece of work you want to publish in mind, but you will get the most out of it if you do, or if you at least have some specific questions about the parts of the process you find unclear or daunting.
