These are some examples of good practice that the Graduate School for Interdisciplinary Studies provides to postgraduate students:

Summer project support: weekly coffee events during summer and fortnightly drop-in sessions with the Deputy Director over and above supervisory support;

  • Innovative assessment model, eg: podcasts, short films, websites and group projects;
  • External speakers help deliver practical and skills sessions;
  • Three different options for summer projects (dissertation, project, portfolio);
  • Engagement with NGOs and practitioners;
  • Orientation week – compulsory breakfasts and informal talks on staff research.
