New: JISC discovery tool for self-assessing your digital capabilities
The University has subscribed to the JISC building digital capabilities service, which gives staff and students access to the discovery tool.
What is the discovery tool?
The discovery tool is a developmental portal that you can use to self-assess and explore your digital capabilities. It helps you identify your strengths and areas for development.
It does this by asking a series of reflective questions, organised into question sets, that relate to the six elements of JISC’s digital capabilities framework.
What does the tool do for me?
The tool gives you a personal report after you complete a question set. Recommended resources and next steps for self-led development are provided in the report.
After engaging with these, you can go back and retake the question set to see if your digital capabilities in that area have evolved.

Staff are invited to attend the live showcase of the discovery tool which is taking place in the ‘Live from the Hive’ channel in the Hive MS Team on Wednesday 2 June, 2.30-3pm.
