Congratulations to the winners of the University Teaching Excellence Awards 2021 who were presented with their awards virtually. Principal Professor Sally Mapstone congratulated them in a joint video with winners of the Student’s Association Awards.

The winners of the University awards were:

  • Nicole Meehan, School of Art History
  • Dr Julie Oswald, School of Biology
  • Dr David Johnston, School of Divinity
  • Dr Catherine Rose, School of Earth & Environmental Sciences
  • Dr Thomas Coleman, School of Mathematics & Statistics
  • Dr Stefan Pulver, School of Psychology & Neuroscience

Vice-Principal Education (Proctor), Professor Clare Peddie said “This year, above all years, the nominations for the Teaching Awards were all extremely impressive.

The dedication with which all of our staff prepared their teaching for online and hybrid delivery was extraordinary and because of this collective effort, students of the University were supported to engage with their modules no matter where they were in the world and no matter what Covid-related restrictions were in place.

The benefits of this support were reflected in student feedback, where students gave recognition of this excellence in the highest module evaluation scores for a number of years.

Therefore, those selected for these awards can be extremely proud of their achievements and my warmest congratulations are given in appreciation of their personal success.”

The winners of the student-led teaching awards can be found on the Student’s Association Teaching Awards webpage.

The winner of the Proctor’s Award was also announced in the video and details of the winner can be found on the Proctor’s Award webpage.
