Film Studies have organised and supported a wide range of activities to help prepare students for post-PhD work, both within and beyond academia.

These include skills workshops (with industry and academic speakers), 3rd year PhD students giving extended ‘work in progress’ presentations, PGR tutors presenting research case studies in lectures (mentored by Module Convenors), interdisciplinary events (for example ‘Beyond the PhD’ which was run by the Director of Postgraduate Studies in collaboration with Modern Languages). We have seen a rise in professional development satisfaction to 81% in 2017.
